Whispers from the Mirror

Revealing the untold tales, as seen through the eyes of an observant entryway mirror reflecting the intimate lives of those who once passed before it
Book #2 from the series: If Objects Could Whisper

In the quiet entryway of an old house, there hangs a mirror— seemingly ordinary, and yet, profoundly aware. This mirror is no ordinary reflection; it is a silent witness to the unfolding drama of life within the house's walls. Whispers from the Mirror explores these tales—moments of joy and sorrow, beginnings and endings, loyalty and betrayal—...

Coming Home to Me: I knocked, and I answered.

What is home?
Is it the house where you first learned the language of love, where your mother’s footsteps reassured you in the night and your father’s voice steadied your fears?
Is it the laughter of siblings, the smell of a familiar kitchen, the quiet certainty of belonging to people who knew your name?
Or does home arrive later, in chosen places...

Other Writing

*Whispers from the Wardrobe* is a collection of fictional stories whispered through fabric, where each garment or accessory carries the echoes of the woman who wore it. The wardrobe becomes a narrator—silent, patient, and always watching—observing the most intimate, unspoken parts of women’s lives.

These aren’t stories told out loud. They’re the kind that live in the lining of dresses, the weight of unworn coats, and the scent trapped in scarves. Every item has witnessed something: a betrayal,...

The Stories We Wear: How a Wardrobe Became My Writing Desk I didn’t set out

I didn’t set out to write a book. I set out to remember who I was before life got too loud.

There was a time I wrote often—letters I never sent, poems I didn’t show, journal entries I buried in drawers. But somewhere between growing up and showing up—at work, in life, in roles I didn’t always choose—writing became a luxury I could no longer afford. My words, once so eager to meet me on paper, slowly grew quiet under the weight of deadlines, dishes, duties.

It was only years later, when the...

Whispers From the Wardrobe: Revealing the Intimate World of Women's Closets, Where Every Item Holds a Narrative Waiting to Be Uncovered by Amal Hdhili is a deeply affecting collection that pulls emotion into stories anchored in the symbolic weight of clothing. The writing is subtle but still powerful, with carefully drawn characters whose inner lives are intimately revealed through the garments they keep. Each story, even though there are similarities between some, is wonderful in its independent rendering of lives. My favorite story is Shadows in the Closet: A Tale of Grief, which follows Sarah as she mourns her husband Adam, whose tragic death leaves her juggling the wreckage of betrayal and loss. The red shoes in her closet become a haunting emblem of memory and resilience. Hdhili composes these stories with remarkable emotional intelligence and poignant detail, offering a moving literary read.

The Funeral on Hold (An excerpt from : Lessons I Never Signed Up For) In

In 1911, when the Mona Lisa was stolen from the Louvre, something remarkable happened.

People continued visiting the museum for one reason: to see the Mona Lisa.

Only, there was no Mona Lisa.

Visitors walked through galleries filled with extraordinary masterpieces, passed paintings that many artists would spend lifetimes hoping to create, and stopped in front of a wall that held... nothing. An empty space. A frame without its painting.

They stared anyway.

Some tried to imagine her smile. Others...

Even the Most Beautiful Song Becomes Noise If You Never Leave the Room It’s

Some relationships start strong.

The connection is instant, the laughter is easy, and being alone together feels like enough.

You find comfort in each other’s presence. The world outside gets quieter, and your own little bubble feels safe, warm, and private.

But love isn’t meant to live in a bubble forever.

Because even the most beautiful song becomes noise if you never leave the room it’s played in.

No matter how perfect the tune, if it echoes through the same four walls day after day—with no...

User Error: Expecting High Performance from Low Investment We’ve all heard

We’ve all heard it:

“I miss the Nokia 3310. That phone held charge for a whole week.”

And yes, it did. It was strong, dependable, nearly indestructible.

But let’s not forget the real reason behind its legendary battery life:

It held charge — because it held nothing.

No camera roll of memories.

No maps or messages flooding in.

No deadlines, alarms, video calls, or calendar reminders.

No complexity. No layers. No life, really — just signal bars and Snake.

We tend to glorify simplicity — especially...
